Tailgater is a very precise pitch-to-CV module that converts any audio signal into control voltage (1 V/octave) allowing you to control the pitch of your VCO. Instead of using a keyboard, you can now play your Eurorack or synth with a guitar, flute, cello, just about anything that makes a sound! The pitch conversion process relies on a very fast algorithm which extracts the fundamental frequency from the input audio signal.
While Tailgater can be used with any type of sound, it has been specially designed with guitar and bass guitar players in mind. The analog envelope follower simultaneously converts the amplitude curve of the input signal into a voltage to be used for dynamic control of a VCA or a filter's cutoff frequency.
