The TipTop/Buchla 285t Frequency Shifter is the eurorack version of the Buchla 285.
The module has two sections, the frequency shifter and the "Balanced modulator".
The Frequency Shifter receives an external audio at its “signal” input then shifts it with either its internal oscillator “INT” or with an external oscillator at the “ref.” input. There is a switch to choose either INT or ref.
The Balanced modulator has a ring modulator but also a "variable" output that lets you sweep the amount of modulation from zero (the pure incoming signal) through amplitude modulation ending in pure ring modulation.
