The fancy IMDI format introduced by tangible waves is pretty neat and very handy. But its utility is wholly predicated on one owning modules which accept IMDI as input. I didn't. So I built the Mono Engine.
This module takes IMDI in and delivers the CV and gate signals needed for one mono voiced synthesizer. It honestly does not do much more, which is by design.
The module features some convenience functionality like centering the current octave at 2V which is quite handy in the limited AE range when the IMDI source is hard to transpose. It also allows to switch between retriggering and not retriggering modes. It can also operate in omni mode or in channel learn mode, where it will only listen to messages on the channel of the last received midi message, allowing for several of the little bastards to be chained together in a multi channel setup.
The module also supports configurable glide which can be set by holding the option button and moving the mod wheel.
